Steps for Applying the I-Port

1. Wash hands with soap and water
2. Swab skin with alcohol or similar disinfectant where you intend to apply the I-Port (Let skin surface dry completely prior to applying the I-Port to the disinfected area)
3. Remove the I-Port from packaging
4. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive pad
5. Remove the needle guard without touching the insertion needle with your fingers
6. Tightly pinch a large amount of skin at desired application site and fully insert insertion needle and cannula into the tissue using adequate speed and force
7. Press the I-Port firmly against the skin to ensure that the insertion needle and cannula are fully inserted into the tissue
8. Hold the I-Port firmly in place when removing the insertion needle

Steps for Injecting Insulin With the I-Port

1. Ensure that the septum is clean before every use
2. Using your injection device, locate and punctue the resealing septum (DO NOT use a needle longer than 5/16 in. or 8 mm)
3. Inject insulin directly into the delivery channel
4. Hold the I-Port firmly in place when removing the injection port device and dispose of needle after administration of insulin
